Centered on the lateral column of the male foot, the dorsal calcaneocuboid ligament spans from the dorsolateral surface of the calcaneus to the dorsal aspect of the cuboid, crossing the superior surface of the calcaneocuboid joint as a short, flattened band. Distal to the calcaneus, the cuboid sits anterior and slightly lateral, with the bases of the fourth and fifth metatarsals continuing anteriorly from the cuboid. Along the plantar aspect, the short plantar ligament (plantar calcaneocuboid ligament) lies inferior to the dorsal band, while the long plantar ligament extends more distally toward the metatarsal bases.
